BlackBerry Bold 9900

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be available on contract with Vodafone when it goes on sale in Blighty later this month, the network has confirmed.

Vodafone has updated the product page for the 9900 on its website, which now reveals an estimated delivery of the handset by 16th August to customers who pre-order it on a range of 12, 18 and 24-month contracts.

The cheapest plan starts at £20.50, but with an outlay of £399 for the handset itself. Customers intending to snap it up free are looking at a minimum two-year contract for £41 a month.

This will entitle them to 1200 minutes of call-time, unlimited texts and 500MB of data, plus 1GB of data at BT OpenZone hotspots, 25MB a day in selected European countries and access to BlackBerry Internet Service.

Powered by the latest BlackBerry 7 operating system, the 9900 is a considerable improvement over its predecessor, the Bold 9780, with features such as a 1.2GHz processor, a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a QWERTY keyboard and a five-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus.

Vodafone will be joined by O2 and Three who have also confirmed to be launch partners for the handset.
