iPhone 5 cases from one of the US's largest manufacturers of iKit accessories have surfaced online, apparently confirming what we thought we knew about the design of the next-gen Apple smartphone.
The cases, which are courtesy of Case Mate, are far from the first to show up and get scrutinised by tech watchers. But because these come from a long-established western case-maker, they should be afforded more credence than earlier oft-glimpsed efforts from the Far East.

And as the images attest, the forthcoming handset will indeed be slimmer than its predecessor. But it’ll also be a bigger bit of kit all-round, presumably in part to make way for the oft-rumoured four-inch screen – up from the 3.5-inch display that features on iPhone 4.
When we’ll actually be able to buy what’s by some distance the year’s most-anticipated smartphone is anyone’s guess right now.
However, the latest mooted due date, which comes to us courtesy of Orange CEO Stephane Richard is October 15th – some five months after Apple was originally expected to unveil the phone.
