Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman

Three has confirmed it will be offering Sony Ericsson (SE)’s upcoming Arc S and Live with Walkman smartphones when they land in Blighty.

The network has updated its ‘coming soon’ page, revealing a September launch for the Live with Walkman and October for the Arc S. The former is the Swedish-Japanese joint venture’s latest music-focussed effort to challenge the iPod, while the latter will effectively replace the original Arc S that launched in summer.

Featuring a 3.2-inch display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, the Live with Walkman’s sonic smarts include a dedicated Walkman button that instantly launches your music library, an xLOUD speaker and free one-month trial of Sony’s Entertainment Unlimited service. It’s also home to a five-megapixel snapper with flash and HD recording and comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box.

The Arc S, meanwhile, rocks a new 1.4GHz processor, offering performances up to 20 per cent faster than its predecessor. Also new is 3D panorama mode for taking widescreen images that can be then viewed in stereoscopic goodness on a compatible telly.

Everything else remains unchanged, notably the 4.2-inch Reality Display, also with Mobile BRAVIA tech, an 8.1-megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor, and of course, Android Gingerbread on board.

Pricing details have not yet been announced, but customers can register their interest on Three’s website.
