An online retailer has revealed pricing for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, offering top end specs for a distinctly mid-range price.

Clove is listing the handset for £300 when bought SIM free, suggesting a none-too-punishing price point of around £20 per month when it lands on contracts on O2, Vodafone and Orange – all of whom have confirmed they’re on board.

That’s actually something of a surprise given the handset’s feature set. For your outlay you’re getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box and an 8.1-megapixel camera with Exmor R lens sensor, 720p HD video recording, autofocus, LED flash, touch-focus, face detection and image stabilisation.

Also on board the Ray, which comes in at a super svelte 9.4mm thick, is a 3.3-inch Reality Display touchscreen, microSD card support up to 32GB, a free 8GB card in the box and a 1GHz processor.

Would-be buyers can choose from pink, gold, black and white colour options.
