Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread coming to Samsung Galaxy Ace

Android 2.3.5 is coming to the Samsung Galaxy Ace, it has been confirmed, giving the huge-selling budget blower a fresh lease of life.

Samsung had originally planned to update the Ace to the 2.3.4 version of Android, which promised to put the kybosh on a number of irksome glitches and nix a bug with the lock screen function.

The bad news is that, after a lengthy wait, 2.3.4 now isn’t heading to the phone. But, according to a Tweet from Three, the good news is that Ace users are getting the newer 2.3.5 edition of Android Gingerbread instead.

Which features that the OS bump will bring to the smartie isn’t yet abundantly clear. A timeframe is similarly hard to come by, too, with Three only revealing that it’ll land on the phone “at some point”.

However, other phones that have been showered in 2.3.5 love, such as the Galaxy S and Nexus S 4G in the US, have included an improved Gmail application, so we fancy there’s that to look forward to at the very least.
