Smartfans eager to wrap their hands around Samsung’s upcoming tablet-cum-smartphone hybrid, the Galaxy Note, will be glad to know it is now only two days away from hitting store shelves in Blighty.

Samsung has brought forward the previously stated UK release date for the Note from November 17th to November 3rd, in a bid to avoid clashing with the hotly awaited Galaxy Nexus, which also launches on the 17th.

First unveiled at the IFA 2011 expo in Berlin back in September, the Galaxy Note is home to a positively massive 5.3-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, a 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and an LED flash powered eight-megapixel camera with a two-megapixel webcam riding shotgun.

Billed as a ‘new type of smartphone’, the Note’s USP, though, is its compatibility with the stylus, making it an attractive proposition for creative and business types alike.

Simon Stanford, managing director of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve had a great response from our retail partners, customers and industry watchers alike following the Galaxy Note announcement at IFA in September and are excited that consumers will be able to buy the device from a wide range of retailers as of next week.”

The Galaxy Note will go on sale across a range of major networks, high street retailers and online vendors, including O2, Three, Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse. Amazon UK is currently taking pre-orders for £549.99 for the unlocked version. Stay tuned for contract deals soon.
