Samsung Galaxy S2 users can get hold of one of the best first person shooters right now for zero outlay, as part of a time-limited offer.
Normally priced £4.99, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation is currently free to all owners of Sammy’s blockbuster phone when they download it from the gadget-maker’s proprietary app market, samsungapps.com.
We’d highly recommend you do exactly that. Modern Combat 3 is perhaps the closest thing yet to a console-quality first-person shooter on a smartphones, with sensitive controls and all the brilliant if derivative action of the original.
And it’s at its very best on dual-core processor-powered kits like the S2, which are brawny enough to handle the fast-paced gameplay and lush graphics with aplomb.
News of Sammy’s promo comes at it gears up to unveil new additions to its product portfolio for 2012 at this month’s Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Likely to be among these is a revamped version of the S2 dubbed the S2 Plus and an upgraded take on the Galaxy Note tablet-cum-smartphone.
Conspicuous by its absence, though, is the S3, which now won’t be dropping until later this year.
