The year’s most anticipated Android phone could take a bow next month, after Samsung France sent out invitations to a mystery press event taking place March 22nd in Paris.
The press call is thought by some tech watchers to herald the coming of the Samsung Galaxy S3, which was originally expected to tip up at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month.
However, last week Sammy issued a statement that it had no plans to unveil the successor to the S2 at the tech expo.
Instead, the phone's worldwide simultaneous release will happen later this year at a separate press showcase specifically for the S3, Samsung said – an event that many now think could be the just-announced March happening.
We’d like to agree with them. But we’re not entirely convinced. Especially given that Sammy almost always holds its biggest, ritziest PR events in New York.
So now for now at least, we’re filing this in the file marked 'Fanciful', where it'll nestle snugly alongside other similarly unlikely S3 spec sheet rumours such as 3D media playback and a flexible screen.
