Samsung has lifted the lid on a new tablet challenger, as Galaxy-branded gadgets continue to emerge ahead of the company’s appearance at Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month.
Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, the successor to Sammy’s original slate will rock the tablet-optimised Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android out of the box, with Sammy’s proprietary Android skin Touchwiz slathered over the top.
Other highlights take in a 1GHz dual-core processor to keep things running silkier than your best underwear and a compact and a bijou seven-inch LCD display with 1024x600 resolution.
Completing the package are dual cameras, a choice of 16GB or 32GB on board storage options and microSD card support to allow you to boost capacity by up to 32GB.
The Tab 2 is expected to land in UK retailers in early March – a date that’s coincidentally also being mooted for the launch of the iPad 3.
Sammy’s decision to unveil its new tablet comes after a successor to the Galaxy Mini leaked online today. The ingeniously named Galaxy Mini 2 is expected to get an official unveiling at MWC.
