Windows Phone users mad about missing out on Angry Birds Space will be pleased to know Rovio is working hard to bring the title to Microsoft’s platform.
Released last week, the latest interplanetary spin-off has already become a massive hit for the Finnish developer, leaving Windows Phone fans – particularly those who picked up one of Nokia’s kits – feeling extra frustrated at being left out of the party.
Speaking to Reuters, Rovio CEO Mikael Hed said: "We are working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7.”
"We are working closely together with Nokia to bring our games to their platforms. Our mutual goal is to bring the best possible experience to our fans, including all fans using Windows Phone devices.”
Hed did not reveal when the title might be ready for release. With any luck it should land in the next few weeks, but it could just as easily take several months. Also unclear is whether Nokia users can expect any sort of exclusive content, along the lines of the Mighty Eagle feature that debuted on the Symbian edition of Angry Birds.
Angry Birds Space has been downloaded 10 million times in just three days of release, proving yet again the franchise, which has racked up 700 million downloads on all platforms, is anything but slowing down.
