The LG Optimus L3 is up for pre-order now in the UK, marking the imminent arrival of the first L-style handset from LG to hit these shores on April 3rd.

Would-be buyers can order the smartie from Phones 4U on Orange, O2 and Vodafone, with free phone contracts starting from £10.50 per month.

Unveiled at Mobile World Congress back in February as part of LG’s relaunch of its budget blowers, the L3 features a dual-core 800MHz processor and a 3.2-inch display with 240 x 320 pixel resolution.

It’s also home to a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus,1GB of internal storage (expandable by a further 32GB of space via microSD card support) and runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) out of the box.

Purportedly tagged as a “on the go socialising device", the Optimus L3 has a long-life 1,500mAh battery and, perhaps in keeping with the youthful market it’s aiming for, comes in white, black, hot pink and blue colourways.

LG’s other L-series kits, the Ice Cream Sandwich-powered L5 and L7 are expected to tip up some time during the second quarter.
