Samsung Galaxy S2 owners on T-Mobile ought to be able to grab Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) soon, the carrier has disclosed.

Earlier this month, Samsung stated that an unadorned build for unlocked Galaxy S2 handsets is set to be made available in the UK this week.

And, if a tweet on T-Mobile’s official Twitter account is anything to go by, it looks like S2 owners on Orange’s partner network will also be entering the ICS promised land imminently.

Responding to a customer query from the fabulously monikered Liberal George, a T-Mobile rep said that the carrier is “working to make ICS available as close to Samsung’s release date as possible”.

Three became the first UK network to make ICS available for Sammy’s all-conquering Android smartie yesterday.

Previously, network-specific Android updates have often arrived months and months after the OS bump was initially released.

Delays to the process have been caused principally by problems getting services to work with new iterations of Google’s OS.
