Samsung will once again assume manufacturing duty for the next Nexus handset, reports suggest, confirming the company’s status as Google’s go-to phone-maker for standard-bearing Android kits.
Samsung collaborated with the search giant for the Google Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus. And if a source cited by DigiTimes is to believed, the partnership with Sammy is about to bear fruit again with another Nexus-branded kit in the pipeline.

According to the anonymous insider, Google “will continue to have Samsung develop its next-generation Nexus models, leveraging Samsung's innovation ability with regard to the Android platform”.
As is Google’s M.O, the phone we’re informally calling the Galaxy Nexus 2 will almost certainly be used to showcase a brand new version of Android in unadorned vanilla form.
The phone will once again also stand as a kind of benchmark for the standards expected from other third-party manufacturing partners using Google’s smartphone platform for their handsets.
The original Google Nexus phone was manufactured by HTC on Google’s behalf, before the one-time leader of the Android charge appeared to fall from favour.
