HTC 8X Windows Phone black official (large image)

Three, Orange and Carphone Warehouse have put up ‘coming soon’ pages for the HTC Windows Phone 8X, confirming they’ll soon be ranging the handset.

Currently, the Windows Phone 8X (doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, does it?) is available through O2 and Phones 4U, which offers O2 and Vodafone contracts, on a range of pay monthly and pay as you go tariffs. Customers looking to snap one up from a different vendor can register their interest via the Three, Orange or Carphone website to be notified when it’s in stock.

The 8X is HTC’s latest and flagship effort running on the latest Windows Phone 8 operating system. Available in an array of bright, eye-popping colours, its standout specs include a 4.3-inch display with 720p HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 2 for protection, a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm S4 processor and an eight-megapixel rear-mounted snapper with 1080p recording and 28mm f/2.0 lens.

Also on board is Near Field Communication (NFC) support for making fast, contactless payments, and Beats by Dre audio technology for impressive sonic smarts.

Pricing and actual release dates are still unknown, but these should be revealed very soon. Stay tuned.
