Tesco Mobile has cut the cost of the iPhone 5 as part of the bargain-gadget bonanza that is this year’s Black Friday.

Until Sunday (November 25th), the carrier has cut the upfront charge for the 16GB edition of the iPhone 5 from £69 to £29 when customers sign up for the iPhone 5 on a two-year contract at £36 per month. This entitles takers to 1GB of data per month, plus unlimited calls and texts.

Billed as the “thinnest, lightest, fastest iPhone ever”, Apple’s latest handset’s spec sheet takes in a larger four-inch Retina display, an improved eight-megapixel iSight camera, a secondary 1.2-megapixel secondary snapper for video calls and none-more-vain self-portraits and a quad-core A6X processor.

The handset also features the latest iOS 6 version of Apple’s operating system, complete with an enhanced version of the Siri voice commands app-cum-digital assistant and the Apple Maps mapping software.
