The Sony Xperia Z will be coming to Vodafone, Three and O2, it has been announced, after the Android toting kit emerged blinking into the limelight at yesterday’s Consumer Electronics Show.

Pricing details for the Xperia Z remain unknown for now. However, we do know that it it is landing in March and is likely to come in at around £35 per month on free phone contracts.

Tagged as Sony’s first-ever phablet, its spec sheet takes in a five-inch full HD Reality display featuring the tech giant’s Mobile Bravia Engine 2 technology and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor.

A 13-megapixel camera is on board too, complete with an Exmor RS sensor for better snaps in low-light conditions and – a first for a smartphone, this – HDR video recording.

Rounding off the feature list is Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, Near Field Communications (NFC) support and 4G LTE connectivity (depending on your network) for super fast mobile web browsing.
