android 4.2.2 update

Google has begun pushing out a new version of Android to its own-branded Nexus gadgets, in the first update of the platform since November.

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is available to download now for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone and its tablet stablemates, the Google Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

As is it wont, Google hasn’t indicated exactly what the OS bump adds to the devices. However, it’s thought that at the very least it will address problems with Bluetooth A2DP streaming reported by owners of some Nexus devices and add a smattering of always-welcome performance enhancements.

The Bluetooth streaming problem apparently resulted in irksome skips during music playback when Nexus gadgets were paired with speakers using the short-range wireless technology.

The update, which is available to download over-the-air directly to the handset, is being staggered, but ought to have reached all Nexus kit users within a few days.
