O2 has begun taking pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 925, offering the soon-to-land flagship on a range of pay-monthly tariffs.
The bubbly network is offering Nokia’s latest Windows Phone-powered smartphone for free on contract plans starting at £37 per month on a two-year term. This entitles customers to unlimited minutes and texts and 1GB of data, plus the option to upgrade a month early.
Pre-orders placed with O2 by 4PM June 12th will be shipped on the 925’s official launch day: June 13th.
Announced last week, the Lumia 925 is a direct sequel to the Lumia 920, featuring a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ AMOLED touchscreen, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and wireless charging capabilities – all rolled into a slick metal chassis that’s a first for the Lumia range.
The 925’s standout feature, however, is an 8.7-megapixel PureView camera with Optical Image Stabilisation and Carl Zeiss optics, plus six physical lenses for snapping in almost any conditions.
Also on board is a new pre-installed Nokia Smart Camera app that offers numerous options including a burst mode to capture a sequence of movements in a single image and the ability to remove unwanted moving objects from photos.
Elsewhere, the 925 packs 16GB of internal storage, NFC technology and LTE support, meaning it will be compatible with O2’s soon-to-launch 4G network.
The Lumia 925 is also coming to Vodafone and Three, as well as high street vendors Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u.
Customers can register their interest on each provider’s official website to be notified when the handset is available to pre-order.
