Officially landing on July 1st, the BlackBerry Q5 is the third smartphone from BlackBerry (formerly Research In Motion) powered by the latest BlackBerry 10 operating system that brings a completely revamped use interface crammed with features.
Among these are the new BlackBerry Hub, where all your messages, social network updates and notifications are now only ever a swipe away, a new version of the BlackBerry Messenger which now supports video chat and an improved camera app that features a ‘Time Shift’ mode that lets you rewind shots to pick the exact moment you wanted to capture.
On the hardware front, the Q5 is home to a 3.1-inch LCD (720 x 720) display, a 1.2GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and a five-megapixel camera.
Of course, the highlight of the phone is that it sports a physical QWERTY keyboard, making it superb for messaging and socialising on the move.
“BlackBerry is excited to bring the new BlackBerry Q5 smartphone to our customers in selected markets around world,” said Thorsten Heins, President and CEO of BlackBerry.
“The BlackBerry Q5 gives you the best of everything with its cutting-edge BlackBerry 10 functionality and a physical QWERTY keyboard. It is for youthful fans that are passionate, confident and bold, and it makes it easy for them to have fun, create, share and stay connected.”
