Samsung has made fresh software available for the Galaxy Note 2, tackling some of the phablet’s most irritating glitches.

According to Sam Mobile, the OS bump, which is up for grabs in “most European countries”, is founded on Android 4.1.2. This is the version of Android that the phone is currently running, so don't expect it to bring with it any extra, exciting features.

However, the new version of Android does address battery drain problems that have affected the phone, and includes “bug fixes” and solutions for “other small problems”.

The free-to-download update is available for download now via Samsung’s proprietary download solution, Kies, for owners of unlocked versions of the Note 3 bought off-contract.

If you bought your phone on a pay monthly deal, though, you’ll probably have to wait until your carrier approves the software. And the bad news is that experience tells us that this could take months.
