Nokia will bring the camera app from the just-unveiled Lumia 1020 to the Lumia 925, adding a suite of fresh imaging features to the smartphone.
The app, which will replace the stock Windows Phone camera application in the Pureview-branded handset, significantly improves the Lumia 925's photography credentials with the addition of a more advanced shooting interface.
This enables users to take more control when shooting photos, offering them scope to tweak exposure levels and ISO while previewing the shot.
The app also gives feedback in real time while the photographer is adjusting the settings, outlining how the changes they make will affect the result.
Owners of the Lumia 920 and Lumia 928, which are part of Nokia’s Pureview range too, will also get the app, Nokia has announced.
The phone-maker has yet to confirm a due date for the camera app’s availability. But it has stated that all phones will need to be updated to the forthcoming Amber version of Nokia’s software first.
Amber is expected to land across the Lumia Pureview range later this month.
