The production line has started to roll on Apple’s oft-rumoured iPad Pro, rumours suggest.
The beefed-up device, packing a 12.9-inch screen, will be officially launched early next year, according to a source in Korea.
The ‘local supplier’ said one of Apple’s key display partners has begun work on the device in its factory on the peninsula. The unnamed insider was also particularly forthcoming about the tech that's to feature in the so-called iPad Pro.
“The 12.9-inch iPad will have improved picture quality. As the Apple partner intends to boost its line-up for displays that have almost ultra high-definition (UHD) quality, the upcoming iPad will provide very clear quality similar to that of UHD,” he/she told Korea Times.
Gossip about a larger iPad Pro has been doing the rounds since early summer. There has been dispute as to whether Apple is plotting an 11.4-inch screen or if it is definitely going for a larger 12.9-inch model.
However, with rumours about production becoming more and more frequent, the likelihood of the iPad Pro seeing the light of day in 2014 is starting to appear more certain daily.
