android kitkat packet

Google has begun rolling out a new update for Android KitKat, just a week after it released a software bump specifically designed to fix camera issues with its new Nexus 5 smartphone.

Android 4.4.2 is starting to appear on the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, as well as the Nexus 5. Google has said it includes a number of unspecified security enhancements and bug fixes, as well as a tweak to ensure the voicemail indicator feature starts working properly.

Users have complained that KitKat has caused a number of problems with Nexus devices, with animation lag in certain apps and camera niggles proliferating.

The software is due to land on other key devices, including HTC’s One and Samsung’s Galaxy S4, early in the New Year. Sony and LG users are also set to get in on the act thanks to newly revealed ‘Google Editions’ of the Xperia Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3 respectively.
