Google is to break with form and bring a splash of colour to its own-brand Nexus smartphones, leaked snaps suggest.
What appear to be images of the Nexus 5 (grabbed from a video) have been unearthed by PhoneArena and show Google’s current-gen smartphone in a rather regal-looking purple hue. The handset is also snapped resprayed in blue, orange, red, green and yellow.
Until now, Google has stuck with an ‘any-colour-as-long-as-it’s-black-or-white’ policy for the Nexus range.
However, assuming the snaps are the real thing and not the work of a Photoshop-fancying chancer, it seems the search giant is following Apple’s lead with the iPhone 5C and adding some more POP colours to its product palette.
The Nexus 5 arrived late last year, snaring some impressive reviews and once again proving a hit with the mass market and more committed tech fans alike thanks to its unfussy vanilla Android software.
The Android 4.4-powered smartie is also home to a five-inch screen with what our very own Joe Minihane referred to as “frankly absurd” 4.14 pixels per inch resolution, an eight-megapixel camera and comes in 16GB or 32GB storage options.
