Steve Wozniak (news banner)

Apple co–founder Steve Wozniak is a man who's not shy of speaking his mind. But his latest intervention on all things Cupertino–related will shock even diehard fans. See, he reckons Apple should build an Android phone.

Speaking with Wired magazine, Wozniak said it wasn’t such a crazy idea: “There’s nothing that would keep Apple out of the Android market as a secondary phone market.

“We could compete very well. People like the precious looks of stylings and manufacturing that we do in our product compared to the other Android offerings. We could play in two arenas at the same time.”

The possibility is intriguing, but it’s about as likely as Tim Cook selling his world–beating company to Samsung. The thought of Apple entering the Android fray would surely upset more than a few manufacturers, not to mention Google.

Wozniak is no longer on the staff at Apple. However, he is often seen at the company’s keynote events. Just don’t go expecting him to be invited back to advise on future strategy any time soon.
