Google Nexus 5 red official

Google has at last rolled out the much-leaked red edition of its Nexus 5 smartphone and it's up for grabs now from its Play Store in 16GB and 32GB variants.

The launch comes after days of speculation and a string of leaked shots of the garish new device flooding the web. It was first revealed by the reliable @evleaks Twitter feed.

Other than the change in colour, everything else has stayed exactly the same with Google’s well–reviewed stock Android handset.

That means Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, the same slimline design, a 5-inch full HD display with 445 pixels per inch and an eight-megapixel camera round the back.

Best of all, the price remains the same too. That means you can snare a 16GB model for just £299 SIM–free. A 32GB version will set you back £339.
