The red edition of the Nexus 5 has once again surfaced online, ahead of its mooted due date next month.

Once again sourced by the last word in device leakers @evleaks, what appears to be a press-shot shows the resprayed phone’s front-view alongside the typically terse, minimal description: “Google Nexus 5, in red, by LG”.

The handset is expected to land on February 5th. Or at least that’s the date the rumour mill has identified, at which time earlier leaks indicate it’s set to be joined by blue, purple, orange, yellow and green colour variants too.

Spec-sheet fixtures and fittings for the incoming, colourful editions of the Android 4.4-powered kit are likely to be completely unchanged from the black and white models you can buy right now.

That means it’ll boast a five-inch screen with4.14 pixels per inch resolution, as well as an eight-megapixel camera and come in 16GB or 32GB storage options.

The real selling point, though, is the unadorned vanilla version of Android it packs, which makes updates simpler and does away with the fussy bloatware that blights too many third-party phones running Google’s operating system.
