HTC has officially confirmed that it will launch the Desire 8 handset on February 24th, suggesting it's likely to show its face at Mobile World Congress (MWC).
The mid–range device was detailed by the Taiwanese mobile-maker on its Weibo page in China and will purportedly come with a 5.5–inch display, a five megapixel front camera, 13 megapixel rear effort and the latest Android software.
However, despite teasing the handset, HTC is yet to give over final details. So this is very much unconfirmed right now.
With the Chinese launch date coinciding with MWC, it’s highly likely the Desire 8 will make an appearance in Barcelona next week. The company is also expected to launch its new M8 flagship at the same event.
HTC has said that it will shift its focus to more mid–tier devices in 2014, as it desperately battles to stay afloat. It recently posted record–breaking losses after a torrid 12 months of falling sales.
