Over 25% of iOS 7 users have upgraded to Apple’s rush–released patch for its operating system in just four days. The Cupertino company released the update after it emerged that iOS was vulnerable to serious attack.

Apple admitted that it had discovered a way for hackers to easily intercept data and communications. As concerns over the theft of passwords and vital information grew, Tim Cook and co's hand was forced and an update was issued.

The swift adoption of the fresh software, iOS 7.0.6, shows the breadth of coverage of the story appears to have worked in Apple’s favour.

The figures come from Chitika, an analytics firm, but only cover North America. Global stats remain unknown.

If you have a device running iOS 7, it is imperative that you download and install this update as a matter of urgency. Mac OS X Mavericks users have also been affected.
