Apple will not release its much–vaunted iPad Pro this year, instead focusing on the launch of an updated model of the iPad Air. There will not be a new iPad Mini in 2014 either.
That’s the word from renowned analyst Ming Chi Kuo, a man known for getting his Apple predictions spot on.
He reckons the 12.9–inch iPad Pro will suck up resources from the iPad Mini, which has apparently failed to sell as well as the slimline iPad Air.
The next-gen iPad Air is believed to come with TouchID smarts and a new A8 processor to make it even faster than the current iteration.
Gossip about a 12.9–inch iPad Pro has been rife for months. The larger device is said to be aimed at the education sector and users seeking more powerful versions of current iOS tablet–focused apps.
Previous rumours have claimed Apple will release the slate in autumn this year.
