LG’s G Pro 2, the company’s new flagship device, could launch before Mobile World Congress after all. The Korean tech titan has sent out invites to Korean press for a small local event on February 13th, suggesting it wants to show off the handset in its home territory first.
The G Pro 2 has already been as good as confirmed for launch this month. LG revealed it was rolling out a new flagship phone when it delivered financial results back in January.
The phone is expected to use the same rear button configuration as the LG G2, but pack a larger hi-res display. Some rumours have even suggested LG is taking the screen size up to a tablet-bothering 6-inches.
The Korean event does not mean the LG G Pro 2 will not be on the show floor in Barcelona. Just that it’ll be getting a soft launch before the all-out assault at the world’s biggest mobile show.
Perhaps LG knows it’ll struggle to compete with its big time rival Samsung if it leaves everything to February 24th.
