Three has become the first UK network to break cover with pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S5, as smartphone-fanciers mark time until it goes on pre-order on March 28th and officially hits shop shelves on April 11th.

The fast-growing carrier isn’t yet offering the handset on any free-phone deals but is proffering a choice of four pay-monthly contracts, all of which feature an upfront charge of £69.

Choose the cheapest, entry-level option at £38 per month and you’ll get 2GB of data per month, plus 600 monthly anytime, any-network minutes and unlimited texts.

Heavier users and chattier types, and apparently some people really do still use their phones for making phone calls, will probably prefer the £44 per month option.

This entitles you to unlimited minutes and data and the same 600-mins per month calls allowance.

Sylvia Chind, head of devices at Three, said: "Partnered with Three's fast 4G network available at no extra cost, additional features such as the Galaxy S5's download booster that uses both WiFi and 4G to increase data speed, means you are no longer confined to your desktop when downloading large files.

“Altogether making this Samsung smartphone the most feature-rich customer experience yet."

Three will not however be selling the ‘copper gold’ version of the phone, which is a Vodafone exclusive. So if you insist on going with Three, you’ll have to choose between black, blue or white.

The network, which is now nine-million customers strong, has also confirmed it will be carrying the Gear 2 Neo smartwatch and Gear Fit FitBit-alike, with both devices set to go on sale for £199.
