Apple has taken delivery of flexible circuit boards for the iWatch, reports suggest, fuelling chatter of a launch in September this year.

Three suppliers, Zhen Ding Technology Holding, Flexium Interconnect and Career Technology, are providing the circuit boards for Cupertino, according to supply-chain sources cited by Digitimes.

Engineers at Apple are set to validate the parts before giving the go-ahead for mass production, the insiders claim.

All three firms are expected to supply Apple in the final stages of iWatch construction. Previous rumours have suggested the device will have a flexible display and use low–powered Bluetooth in order to boost battery life.

A September launch date would allow Apple to tie the iWatch in with the arrival of its much–hyped iPhone 6, also expected around that time.

iOS 8 is also due for official release in the autumn, after an initial launch at Apple’s WWDC event in early June.
