samsung galaxy s5 colour range

Stock levels of the blue model of the Samsung Galaxy S5 are already under-strain, as Sammy’s latest flagship becomes the latest phone launch to be hit by supply shortages.

Billed as a bit to take the Galaxy S range 'back to basics', the Galaxy S5 officially went on sale on April 11th, having been up for grabs for pre-order customers since March 28th.

Mere days after the phone landed on shop shelves, a scan of networks’ sites reveal that while the white, black and even gold editions are pretty easy to come by, that’s not the case with the standard blue edition.

Order the blue model now on EE and you’re looking at a wait of up to 14 days. By way of comparison, if you opt for the white model you can expect to have it in your hand within a day.

The blue edition seems to be in scant supply on Three too, which lists an estimated due date of April 22nd for orders placed today. Once again the white and black versions are much more plentiful, with the network offering next-day delivery.

Interestingly, the gold model, which the smart money said would be the biggest seller after the huge success of the gold iPhone 5S, doesn’t seem to be quite the must-have object of desire many had expected.

Vodafone, which has exclusive UK rights to sell the gold iteration for a month, lists a due date of 2-4 days. That suggests that while the advent of a novelty blingy colour option was enough to sell the gold iPhone, it might not have the same pull for the Galaxy S range.
