BlackBerry has revealed a new smartphone that promises to at least garner the ailing Canadian company a few headlines, even if its design might well put off potential buyers.
Dubbed the BlackBerry Passport, this odd–looking new device has a square, 1440 x 1440 4.5–inch screen, with what looks like a seriously cramped QWERTY keyboard at the bottom.
It’s believed that BlackBerry intends to include special feature control on the keyboard, although why you’d choose that over using the touchscreen proper remains something of a mystery.
The BlackBerry Passport is due to get a full unveiling in September. Expect to hear plenty of gossip about the device in the next few months.
