Another day, another key iPhone 6 component leak. This time it’s the same logic board spotted earlier this week, but placed next to a larger version, believed to be from the 5.5–inch iPhone 6.
The components are seen laid out either side of the logic board from last year’s iPhone 5s. There is a significantly larger arm which extends across the top, which is rumoured to house Near Field Communcations (NFC).
The inclusion of the tap–to–share tech would be a boon for iPhone users, who have not been able to take advantage of the feature. NFC is a core component of top end Android phones and is likely to play a big role in the development of mobile wallet services in the next few years.
The leak of a part from the 5.5–inch iPhone 6 suggests we may well be seeing it debut alongside the smaller 4.7–inch model in September. Insiders have claimed that the more capacious device would be held back for release until later this year.
