ntl upgrades broadband service

8 March 2005

Telecoms firm ntl is expected to commence its programme of broadband connection speed upgrades as from later today.

A source at Cable Forum revealed that the company is to upgrade the majority of 750k and 1.5mb connections to two and three mb packages respectively.

The broadband supplier said it will automatically carry out these changes during the course of the next few weeks.

Those customers currently with a black PACE set-top box will however need to arrange a free swap with ntl in order to obtain the two mb speed.

The move comes as an immediate response to ntl being named as the UK's worst customer service provider in a poll by Internet Market Research Services.
