RDA highlights importance of broadband

16 March 2005

The ever-improving provision of high-speed broadband internet access is proving of paramount importance to the day to day operations of businesses and home users, according to the head of IT at the north-west regional development agency.

Speaking at a national business conference in Blackburn, Kevin Morely relayed countless benefits of the always-on, high-speed internet connections increasingly being felt by internet users at home and work.

"This event was a great opportunity for businesses to see first-hand the huge benefits offered by fast and cost-effective broadband connections," Mr Morley commented.

"Broadband has the potential to revolutionise the way in which businesses operate."

Successful restaurateur Simon Woodroofe echoed Mr Morley's statements, adding: "In this competitive world, you need to clearly identify what sets you apart from your competitors.

"Successful businesses seize every opportunity that faces them, and in this worldwide marketplace, we must embrace technology and strive for never-ending innovation."

The event was organised by the Lancashire Digital Development Agency (LDDA) with support from Business Link Lancashire and East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
