Tiscali rolls out new broadband speed

31 March 2005

UK broadband provider Tiscali has today unveiled its new two mbps internet offering, according to reports.

The high speed broadband service will be available from £19.99 a month and comes complete with a new free modem.

The package has a 15 gigabyte monthly download limit with additional gigabytes charged at £1.50 each.

No installation charges are incurred for existing customers who are also presented with the opportunity to sign on for the combined two mbps SmartTalk broadband and telephone package for the same monthly fee.

"It's always our aim to provide the best value broadband on the market," Web User has quoted a Tiscali spokeswoman as saying.

"We think the Tiscali two mbps at £19.99 is another breakthrough price."

The move by Tiscali is representative of a sweeping trend, according to analysts, as broadband providers throughout the UK respond to BT's new two mbps service.
