New research has revealed that small businesses are reaping the benefits of broadband thanks to improved productivity and cost effectiveness.
The STUDY, undertaken by the Broadband Research Centre at Brunel University, found that two urban small businesses were cut the time it took them to complete certain activities, because they were using broadband.
A brokerage firm made the biggest saving of the four businesses looked at, using the technology to automate many of the previously manual undertakings.
Recent research by the government-sponsored initiative ActNow Broadband Cornwall did find that broadband technology could also boost profits for rural businesses, but is important that the companies knew how to maximise the benefits.
