Police officers in Peterborough are using broadband internet to enhance relations with members of the public.
Cambridgeshire police force have launched a live webchat project to encourage citizens to ask officers questions and seek advice and information.
Chief superintendent Paul Phillipson has discussed topics such as neighbourhood policing and safety on buses, with the public.
He commented: "Yet again the webchat has proved a great success and I am delighted that so many new people have taken the opportunity to log on and speak to me live online.
"We know from other correspondence we have had in the past that people have views and concerns and issues they want to raise with me, but have not had the channels in which to get those issues to me."
