Bulldog Communications has announced that its eight megabyte broadband service is being made available to one third of the UK's homes.
It is an unprecedented deal to hit the UK market, offering eight meg internet access and no download limits.
New customers will be able to purchase the new service for the same price as the four meg technology, starting from £15.50 per month.
Bulldog CEO Emanuele Angelidis said: "Eight meg from Bulldog, with no download caps, gives customers the freedom to use the internet as they wish. Thanks to the enhanced speed, people will have a really high quality experience, whether browsing, downloading DVDs, music or photos, as well as swapping large files.
"As well as catering for the user who's online most of the time, we also have Top Up packages for the light internet user or the cost-conscious as well as packages which include unlimited UK calls for those who spend a lot of time on the phone."
As an introductory offer, customers will be able to sign up to the eight megabyte service for just £1 for their first month.
