New internet service provider (ISP) Be has released details of its net service.
The local loop unbundling (LLU) broadband ISP is to go live today, offering speeds from 18.5 megabytes-per-second (Mbps) to 24 Mbps.
Be's best offer is its 24 Mbps broadband for £24 a month, which is available in those areas of London where Be has deals with BT exchanges.
Be Managing director Dana Pressman said in a statement that Be was "simply better value than any other broadband service from any other provider".
Pocket.lint.co.uk says that the connection is big enough "to allow two High Definition TV (HDTV) channels, plus three or four standard TV or Video-on-Demand channels, and still have enough bandwidth for general surfing or Voice over Internet Protocol calls (VoIP)".
"This radically advanced capability will change the way people use their computers and opens up a world of opportunities as exciting as the advent of broadband itself" added Miss Pressman.
An upfront connection fee of £24 is required, and thereafter the service costs £24 per month.
