Internet service provider (ISP) Be, which launched a new 24 megabytes-per-second (Mbps) offering on Monday, has announced further improvements to the deal, it has emerged.
The ISP said today it would be increasing the upload speeds from the standard 256 kilobytes-per-second (Kbps) to 1.3 Mbps.
Be's super-fast new upload speed will be implemented on all Be products, not just the 24 Mbps service.
It hopes the upload will allow users to access every kind of broadband function, including Internet Protocol (IP) TV - digital TV over the net -, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which allows users to make home telephone calls through a broadband connection.
"This upload speed will transform the capability for anyone wanting to upload content from pictures to pod-casts to place-shifting," said Dana Pressman, Managing Director of Be.
"It will make content sharing much easier and let users get far more out of the Internet than ever before."
