VoIP consumer guide published

15 March 2006

An internet telephony expert has devised a guide in an attempt to simplify the VoIP market for potential users.

Peter Gradwell, the founder and managing director of VoIP provider Gradwell.com, has compiled a 22-page document entitled Introducing VoIP in order to help users understand the different services available in the UK as well as their potential benefits.

Published by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the booklet also includes regulatory issues and lists useful websites and trade associations from which consumers can access further information.

"It has been immensely encouraging to witness the take-off of VoIP in the UK," Mr Gradwell commented.

"The guide I trust helps potential VoIP subscribers - and those already using VoIP who may be looking to enhance their current systems - to plot the best way forward."

He added: "Every advance that manufacturers and resellers make is pretty well guaranteed to be good news for customers, but customers need readily available facts at their fingertips, to make sure they get things right."

Consumers can use VoIP telephony through a broadband internet connection.
