A UK internet service provider (ISP) has launched a new package combining digital television with a high-speed broadband internet connection.
Namesco said that its tvMax package will bundle a broadband internet connection of up to 8Mb with a set top box from manufacturer Netgem.
Through the package, viewers will be able to access digital television as well as some on demand content, allowing them to pause, rewind and record live television.
Customers will also be able to schedule programmes and browse the internet through their televisions.
Kevin Savage, Namesco's chief executive, said: "We are delighted to partner with Netgem to bring to the UK market a truly integrated, innovative and easy to use broadband and television service.
"Our tvMax service brings the true value of broadband to the one place in the home where media is genuinely consumed and shared. As the first UK provider to offer a service of this nature, we are proud to be at the leading edge of digital Britain."
The new service will launch on April 28th.
