Broadband customers choosing Demon

20 June 2006

Many broadband customers chose to sign up with Demon last year, as the company saw its total number of subscribers increase by 20% during the year ending March 31st.

Demon, owned by the Scottish firm Thus, saw its total number of UK customers rise to 110,000.

Thus has also acquired Your Communications and Legend Communications, increasing its broadband base even further, to 126,500 users.

"This has been an exciting year for Thus as the pace of transition from legacy services to next-generation services accelerated," said chief executive William Allan.

"The full capability of the Thus next generation network, managed solutions and converged services portfolio is now being widely recognised for innovation, quality and resilience. These features have resulted in some significant new contracts and our order pipeline has strengthened for converged services and managed solutions contracts, which bodes well for future growth."

Demon also launched Demon Voice, its internet telephony service, in May. A high-speed 8MB service is also due to emerge soon from the firm.
