Customer on one of Plusnet's Pay As You Go (PAYG) broadband deals are to receive a free upgrade from the company.
Those signed up to the internet service provider's (ISP) basic £14.99 deal, which offers speeds of up to 8Mb, will still pay the same monthly subscription price but will be allowed to download twice as much for free.
The transfer limit has been upped from 1Gb to 2Gb, with extra amounts of data transfer sold for £1.50 for an additional 2Gb, instead of £1 for 1Gb as had previously been the case.
Neil Armstrong, PlusNet's product development director, said: "Pay As You Go Broadband is ideal for customers with changing usage needs – downloading video and MP3 files is becoming more popular and because of the intelligent technology we use to manage our network; customers get high speeds whether they're downloading a little or a lot.
"The same intelligent technology makes for a very cost effective network, PlusNet has always been recognised as a great-value ISP and this move shows we're making our products even better value, we're pleased to be passing on savings to our customers," he added.
