118 will expand into broadband market

14 August 2006

The CEO of 118, Daniel Corby, has announced the group's intention to diversify into the broadband market as part of a wider scale telecoms business launch later in 2006.

The company has developed into the 4th largest directory business in the UK within its first year and its telecoms launch is planned for the 4th quarter.

Mr Corby said that while 118 telecoms has quickly developed in the marketplace, it made sense to undertake a full roll out of telecom services.

He said: "The next services will include 118 broadband and 118 landline, a product similar to talk talk, the very popular service from Carphone Warehouse."

The 118 group is operated from offices in Chelmsford, Harlow and Salt Lake City in the US. The telecoms division started life in the first quarter of 2006 and the group is planning an AIM float in 2007/2008.
