BT has announced that it is to increase the bandwidth for its Total Broadband Option 3 broadband customers with the plan now being marketed as an unlimited usage one.
In addition, the cap for BT's Total Broadband Option 1 priced at £10 a month, is going up from 2GB to 5GB and the cap for Total Broadband Option 2, which costs £15 a month, is rising from 6GB to 8GB.
A spokesman for the telecommunications provider told computeract!ve: "We decided to give our customers better broadband services because we have come to recognise the increasing need for downloading applications that require large bandwidth.
"Broadband is an integral part of everyday life and we hope with these new services people will be able to utilise it more efficiently."
In addition, customers who sign up before the end of March will have the chance to receive £500 of vouchers for dabs.com, a website specialising in wireless technology , as well as being entered into a prize draw to win £1,000.
Another incentive is the fact that BT only charge an extra 30 pence per gigabyte if subscribers go over their subscription limits, whereas other providers charge between 75 pence and £2 per gigabyte.
